Hey loves! I can’t believe we’re officially 13 days away from a New Year! Whoop💃🏽💃🏽
If you follow me on social media, then you probably know that my birthdays and the Chateau Elan Resort go hand-in-hand; as I’ve celebrated there every year, for the past 4 years. It’s a beautiful resort, just about 45 mins to an hour from Atlanta with places to explore, golf, a spa, several restaurants and great accommodation. It’s a great choice for a weekend getaway & I’m excited to share my road trip experience this year in my 2018 Toyota Corolla with you guys today!
So this year, we planned to kickstart my bday celebration a week early at the Chateau but unfortunately for us, Mother Nature intervened. As most of you know, there was an early snowstorm here in GA that began late Friday afternoon! We made the decision to still go and spend our Saturday at the Resort, and I was really impressed to see the Corolla power through ❄️ smoothly. I've been an SUV driver for 5+ years now, so I was pleasantly surprised at the legroom and comfort I found on the front roll as I cruised in this smooth, quiet silver rider. The adjustable heated leather seats & 7 inch touch screen which provides navigation, weather, and traffic. Plus, the reverse rear-view camera definitely came in handy.
After a culinary class and dining at Paddy’s (one of many restaurants in the resort) and exploring the beautiful scenery, we hopped back into the Corolla & came back to Atlanta where we also explored The Old Fourth Ward neighborhood which is a super cute trendy hub with lots of shopping and food attractions. One of the things I loved about this town (besides the shops) was the amazing wall murals that we saw at almost every corner from Ponce city market to the Beltline Eastside Trail. I also love seeing all the cute little solid healthy joints you can stop by to grab a bite or two. We made a quick stop at Gusto on ponce for ice cream and it was so delish.
